Spaces for hire

empty tables and chairs at an outdoor event

Overview

We have a variety of hire options depending on the size of the group and your requirements.

The rooms downstairs have great indoor-outdoor flow, taking you to the sunken rose garden beneath the grand old tulip tree or the sunny Coach House courtyard.

The entire venue is well-heated and cosy, meaning winter functions are popular. Whatever your event, we can give you certainty that no matter what the weather brings, we’ll have it covered.

Garden parties can accommodate much larger numbers; however, wet-weather arrangements should be planned.

Car parking is available on site.

Gardens

Nestled beside Hokowhitu Lagoon, the gardens at Caccia Birch House offer a peaceful escape. Walking paths guide visitors through vibrant garden beds, open lawns and a stunning collection of native and exotic trees – from rimu and kauri to Japanese maple and wisteria.

There are a number of notable trees located in the Caccia Birch grounds, with our handy guide showing you where to look.

Don’t forget to check out our viewing platform over the lagoon, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Whether you’re here for a quiet stroll, a picnic or an event, the gardens provide a picturesque backdrop which changes with the seasons. With gorgeous views across the lagoon, it’s a beautiful space where heritage meets horticulture.

The gardens are open daily from dusk to dawn (except when there is a private function). Dogs are welcome (on-leash).
